Firefox browser getting worse and worse

I have been using Firefox for more than 3 years now since version 2.. it is now on version 3.5. Not sure what you guys doing to improve it but it just getting worse and worse.

Firefox browser is quite often crashed or freeze when I clicked on a hyper link!? WTF ?? Also it ate up to 900mb of my memory ram after just 15 minutes of using. In addition, playing online video even worse, keep loosing sound and freeze for 1 or 2 seconds.

Now I am going to switch and stick with Google Chrome, and only use Firefox as a debugging tool (Firebug + Developer toolbar)

If you experienced the same issue, love to hear some of your thoughts!

Few weeks off with Smarty, jQuery and Prestashop

When the time has come, I decided to take few weeks off work and treat myself a different life – doing things I wanted to do and the most importantly is to be near to my GF

It’s been nearly 3 years now since I started working on all e-commerce website which use Tradingeye platform, there is no doubt that tradingeye is very stable and flexible system especially its template system PHPLIBS (more here) so easy to work with. However, phplibs was first built in 2001 and the latest version was out in 2002..Sadly, there is no other version released since then

I have recently worked on brand new Web 2.0 e-commerce platform – Prestashop (open source). It has come to my attention that it uses Smarty template to offer template files separated from programming language (PHP).

In the next couple of weeks, I will try to finish all existing projects and get my head in Smarty, jQuery and Prestashop.

I will be posting some tutorial about few images gallery using jQuery as well.

Google e-commerce tracking modification for Tradingeye and UK2.net ecommerce package

Now, please follow these steps

Step 1: Enabling E-Commerce Reporting in the Profile

The first step of tracking e-commerce transactions is to enable e-commerce reporting for your website’s profile. To enable e-commerce reporting, please follow these steps:

Log in to your account.
Click Edit next to the profile you’d like to enable.
On the Profile Settings page, click edit next to Main Website Profile Information.
Change the E-Commerce Website radio button from No to Yes.

Step 2: Receipt Page Format

Tradingeye and UK2.net payment process is slightly different from others. Once customer completed their transaction, he will be taken to an acknowlegdement (thank-you) page rather than a receipt page. He then has to click on the link “view your receipt” to see his receipt. Thus, we need to modifify these following files:

/modules/ecom/templates/main/orderProcessed.tpl.htm
/modules/ecom/classes/main/receipt.php

You need to replace this “UA-xxxxxx-xx” to your own Google Tracking ID

Notice

1. If your shop is using Off-site payment gateway such as Paypal or GoogleCheckout, it is required your customer going back to the merchant site otherwise no record is tracked.
